New Low Cost Mobile Capture Device- The Motorola Moto G2

Everyday the use of mobile devices “in-the-field” is becoming commonplace, especially for employees to be able to capture documents and media while they are on the go. Until relatively recently, the processing power and camera technology  required to make it practical has only been found on the high end smart devices, such as the Apple iPhone.

This cost vs capability dilemma has presented its own challenges for organisations wanting to implement mobile capture, as phones used in many industries such as transport & logistics, construction or mining are prone to getting lost or dropped on a fairly regular basis. At around $1000 a pop, the high end models often make the provision of mobile phones to roving staff, a risky business proposition.

Motorola Moto G2Thankfully, Motorola seem to have come up with a great low-cost device that ticks all of the boxes. Also read Motorola Moto X Play price.

The new Motorola Moto G2, runs Android KitKat, has an 8 mega pixel  camera, 5 inch high resolution screen and sports a 1.2Ghz quad core processor making it ideal for capturing documents, invoices, receipts or photographs.

Another great addition is the provision of dual sim capability, meaning that field workers can now either split work and personal calls in the same device or alternatively their companies could opt for one SIM being used for phone calls / SMS messages and the other SIM for data.

This is a great option for companies that want to save the maximum amount of money on their communications costs.

Coming in at under $240 Incl GST, the new Motorola Moto G2 definitely seems worthy of serious consideration.

The only downside to the G2, is the lack of 4G/LTE connectivity, however mobile capture software such as that available from Kofax / Computron, are able to minify and enhance images directly on the mobile device. This Virtual Rescan (VRS) technology is able to compress files that would normally take several megabytes to transmit, down to only a few kilobytes.

The Moto G2 is available across Australia from Motorola or online retailers such as Kogan.

Doogee S6000 Was Released: Equipped with 6000mAh battery

The Mainland smartphone manufacturer Doogee is known for its cheap phones. Now the manufacturer releases a smartphone named as S6000. The phone is equipped with 6000 mAh battery. The capacity of battery is 3 to 4 days on average.

We initially thought that the Doogee S6000 would support 1GB of RAM, but it seems like this handset will ship with 2GB of RAM after all. This is a great news, especially considering the phone will keep its previously reported $139.99 price tag. The Doogee S6000 equipped with a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 16GB of ROM (expandable up to 128GB). This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.5GHz just as Elephone P6000, and the thickness will be 9mm, which is great considering it will pack a huge 6,000mAh unit on the inside. The 8-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. The Doogee S6000 will be made out of Zinc Titanium, and you can also expect it to ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Doogee S6000 will pack more RAM than we initially thought, and will keep its affordable price tag. It looks alright, and the build materials are definitely premium. The phone will support 3 capacitive buttons below the display (menu, home and back, respectively) and you can expect it to launch in August, at least according to the latest information we’ve received. We’ve already shared a number of Doogee S6000 images recently, but our source sent us some additional ones this time around. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see a number of nice real images of Doogee S6000 which will give you a good look at this handset.
